“She’s a real Thumbelina” – Meet the girl who’s only 99cm tall and defied all the odds

Kenadie Jourdin-Bromley, a Canadian child from Ontario, seemed ordinary at first glance.

She had high hopes for the future, loved sports and drawing, and went to school.

Nonetheless, one characteristic set Kenadie apart from her peers: her diminutive height of 99 centimeters.

Reports state that when Kenadie was born in February 2023, she weighed a mere 2.5 pounds. Her condition was quickly diagnosed by doctors as an uncommon form of cardiovascular disease, thought to affect only 100 people globally. The nurses dubbed her “Thumbelina,” quite fittingly.

Regretfully, Kenadie had slim chances of surviving.

According to reports, the girl’s condition can lead to complications like delayed mental development, respiratory issues, and digestive issues. Doctors at the hospital where the girl was born were concerned that she wouldn’t have much time to live due to her brain injuries.

Understandably, her parents were devastated. In order to give their little girl a name in case she passed away, they chose to christen her on the day of her birth.

“We thought we were going to take her home to die, because that’s what the doctors told us,” mom Brianne explained to Barcroft TV back in 2016.

Still, as the days went by, Kenadie steadfastly refused to give up. After she triumphed over all the challenges and hardships, her parents were able to dream again that she would survive. It was nothing less than a miracle for them.

Many years later, Kenadie still astounds everyone she encounters. She is only 99 centimeters tall, her arms and legs are still immature, and she struggles to learn new things, but she is a content young girl who enjoys life to the fullest.

Kenadie reportedly enjoys bowling and ice skating. Above all, she makes people happy that she meets.

“Kenadie makes me laugh. She’s very empathetic – if you hurt your finger she comes and gives you a hug. She’s got an infectious laugh that makes you want to laugh along with her,” Kenadie’s assistant Jessica Putnam mentioned to Barcroft TV in 2016.

Naturally, Kenadie and her family face many new challenges in their lives. Despite her loved ones’ best efforts to take each day as it comes, the young girl is continuously dealing with medical issues.

“My hope for Kenadie’s future– my biggest hope for her– is I want her to be happy. I want her to smile and be successful. If we can get through today, then we’ll see about tomorrow,” her mom said.

We are happy to share Kenadie’s inspiring story!

Once a broke, single mom, Marion Ross from ‘Happy Days’ celebrates 95th birthday

On October 25, Marion Ross celebrated her 95th birthday and 70 years of acting, which includes her role as one of the world’s most adored mothers.

For 11 seasons during the 1970s, the nonagenarian played the Cunningham matriarch on Happy Days, the hit TV series that followed the adventures of her teenaged children and their motley crew of friends in the 1950s.

But before her beloved role as “Mrs. C,” Ross’ life as a single mom to two children was rife with poverty in some “very, very hard” and unhappy days.

Keep reading to learn more about one of America’s favorite moms!

Marion Ross, who celebrated her 95th birthday October 25, started her screen debut 70 years ago with a small role in the 1953 film Forever Female, starring Ginger Rogers and William Holden. Through the 1950s, Ross had a steady stream of work, appearing in films alongside Hollywood legends like James Stewart, Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Doris Day.

She went on to regularly acting in classic TV shows like The Lone Ranger, The Donna Reed Show, The Brady Bunch, The Fugitive, Father Knows Best and more.

While her career was heating up, she was also dealing with her husband, actor Freeman Meskimen, an “unmotivated, moody drinker” whom she eloped with at 21.

After learning her husband of 18 years was having an affair, she took their two kids, Jim and Ellen, and braced herself for some “very, very hard” days as a single mom, surviving on unemployment.

Struggling to pay the bills after her 1968 divorce, her career was also suffering.

“When I was 40, I got divorced. Nobody had a job [for me], and I had two small children,” the star of Sabrina shared with Closer Weekly. “I rented out one of the bedrooms in my house to pick up some money…I’d think, ‘I made $35 today.’ It was hard.”

She recalled a moment when Jim asked why they didn’t have a hair dryer and she responded: “We can’t afford it.”

At an audition for the 1970 disaster film Airport, where she appears in an uncredited role, Ross met a casting director who changed her life.

She was casting “a little pilot called Love and the Happy Days,” Ross shared. “She said, ‘You could play the mother.’ I got the part!”

In 1974, when she was 46, her career exploded with her Emmy Award-winning role of homemaker Marion Cunningham on Happy Days, which starred Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Scott Baio and her TV husband Tom Bosley, who played hardware store owner Mr. Cunningham.

Once Happy Days ended in 1984, Ross’ career stayed steady with more TV appearances, including recurring roles on The Drew Carrey Show, That ‘70s Show, the Gilmore Girls, and Brothers and Sisters. From 2001 to 2011, she loaned her voice to Grandma SquarePants on SpongeBob SquarePants.

In 1996, she received a Golden Globe nod for her supporting role in The Evening Star with Shirley MacLaine and Juliette Lewis, the long-awaited sequel to the Oscar-winning film, Terms of Endearment.

In 1988, at 60, Ross married the love of her life, Broadway star Paul Michael. The two were together until his death in 2011.

After several guest appearances on TV series like Nurse Jackie and Grey’s Anatomy, Ross, who authored the book My Days: Happy and Otherwise, announced in 2021 that she was officially retiring from acting.

Couple says restaurant fined them for ‘poor parenting’ – the restaurant owner then reveals the truth

Dining out can be a stressful experience for parents. A lot of times, parents cannot control their kids in public, which makes dining out an unpleasant experience for everyone present.

This couple struggled similarly, and they claim to have been ‘fined’ for it. Keep reading to know more.

A restaurant in North Georgia did something no one ever expected: charging patrons a fine for ‘poor parenting.’ The Toccoa Riverside Restaurant outside of Blue Ridge has sparked a debate online: is it fair to charge parents for badly behaved children?

A customer on Reddit revealed their experience at the restaurant. They wrote, “The owner came out and told me he was adding $50 to my bill because of my children’s behavior… disappointed by the experience.”

A reporter contacted the restaurant and got their side of the story. The owner, Tim Richter, decided to tell the truth. He said while the restaurant added a surcharge during COVID-19 to cover costs, they did not charge anyone more than their bill recently.

WORST PERFORMANCE ‘EVER’: Jesse Watters reacts to the US women’s soccer team loss after star player Megan Rapinoe repeatedly criticized America before ending her career with a penalty miss

Fox News reporter Jesse Watters criticized Megan Rapinoe for her Women’s World Cup performance. He said, “It’s hard to root for an athlete who disparages the country over and over again.” The USWNT got eliminated in Round 16 by Sweden on penalties. They had an underwhelming performance in the whole tournament despite entering in it as the defending champions. Not only had they won the 2019 edition of it, they also won it in 2015.

Advertisements were showing how it was impossible to get rid of this team and that they were invincible. However, that did not amount to good performances on the pitch. They started well, beating Vietnam 3-0 in the opening game of the tournament. The team then drew 1-1 with the Netherlands in a rather underwhelming draw.

WARSAW, May 18 (Reuters) – Denis Dziubanovskiy weighed only a perilous 1.5 kg when his Ukrainian refugee mother, traumatised by the war in her homeland, gave birth to him prematurely via caesarean section, leaving her unable to breastfeed him.

A UNICEF-funded milk bank in Poland set up for mothers in crisis came to the rescue of Evgeniya Loshkarova last September, giving Denis access to milk and his mother psychological support and lactation advice.

Loshkarova, who had been found unconscious by the police in her Warsaw apartment in her seventh month of pregnancy after a friend raised the alarm, said she was deeply grateful for the U.N.-backed milk bank in Poland – which has taken in hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who fled Russia’s invasion.

“It is such a great help both for the baby’s health, and for the psychological comfort of the mother. When a baby is born prematurely, it is always very stressful, because something has gone wrong,” she said.

With the help of UNICEF’s programme, more than 300 mothers – about 20% of them from Ukraine – benefit every month from various services in 10 hospitals hosting milk banks in Poland.

“These are women who have difficulties in the initial stage of motherhood. They are under a lot of stress, some of them have suffered war trauma,” said Aleksandra Wesolowska, head of the Human Milk Bank Foundation.

“Therefore they really need lactation care and psychological support. This element of support is the most important. Milk from the bank is food, of course, but it is also the expression of female solidarity.”

Premature Ukrainian war babies get donated breast milk in Poland under UN programme

Stepmom delivers special wedding vows to four-year-old – his reaction breaks my heart

There’s nothing quite like a wedding to leave people in tears of joy.

That was a lesson learned the hard way by four-year-old Gage, when he struggled to battle his emotions as his father, US Marine Corps sergeant Joshua Newville, married Senior Airman Emily Leehan in Ripley, New York a few years ago.

Little Gage was doing quite the job of keeping it together. That was until his father’s bride read vows that she had written specifically for him. Queue the breakdown.

It was a proud moment in the life of Gage Newville; standing by his father’s side as the latter exchanged vows with his wife-to-be, Senior Airman Emily Leehan.

Little did the four-year-old know, however, that Leehan had written a set of vows especially for him. When she delivered them, with an already-emotional audience watching on, it all became a bit much for Gage to bear.

No sooner had Leehan began her recital, did Gage breakdown in floods of tears. As per the Daily Mail, Leehan began: “I want you to be safe, and to try your hardest and to be a good person.”

Before she could continue, however, Gage had thrown his arms around her and was lost to his emotions.

As was to be expected, a collective ‘awwww’ came from the audience as Leehan tried to compose him. “Don’t cry baby,” she said, though at that point it’s safe to say Gage could be forgiven for relaxing on his discipline.

“The last thing thing I hope you learn is that you are a special boy,” Leehan went on to say. “You are so extremely smart, handsome, and kind to others. You have helped shape me into the woman that I am today and I may not have given you the gift of life, but life surely gave me the gift of you.”

Somewhat unsurprisingly, both Leehan and Newville shed their own tears before they were able to finish up their vows. As for Gage … well, he did a mighty fine job of stealing the show; if not for his striking suit and doe-eyed stare as Leehan began her vows, but for a reaction that promises to steal hearts the world over.

According to US outlet, ABC7, newlyweds Leehan and Newville remained on active-duty immediately after the ceremony, and so were not able to head straight off for their honeymoon. Instead, they returned to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to begin married life.

Regardless, their ceremony was certainly one to remember. You can watch the video of Gage hearing Leehan’s vows below – might want to grab the tissues for this one.

Delta Burke’s husband has stood by her for 34 years – even when through sickness and weight gain

A good marriage can survive anything.

These days you sometimes see people taking their marital vows for granted and now abiding by them. However, Delta Burke and Gerald McRaney are two people who have kept their vows for over 3 decades.

Keep reading to learn about the various trials and tribulations this couple has gone through…

When Gerald McRaney met actress Delta Burke, he knew he wanted to ask her out. But he was also acutely aware of his competition because of so many men being interested in her.

He recalls the time he asked her out, saying, “I wasn’t going to let her get away. I already had competition. There were people asking her out on dates, and I was going to move in right away.”

It was an immediate connection and McRaney knew she was the girl for him. On their second date, he asked her to marry him. But it was two years later in 1989 that the couple made things official – they tied the knot on May 28.

While it was not as fast as McRaney would have wanted, he was happy that he had got the girl of his dreams!

While it was Burke’s first marriage, this was McRaney’s third time! But this time, he was determined to make it last.

While the couple was madly in love, there were some people who thought their marriage wasn’t a good idea. Namely, some of McRaney’s friends warned him against him. But he dismissed all those reasons every single time. He remembers saying, “Why not? They’re the only people who understand this insanity. And she does. If I’m on location, and I don’t call her until 2 o’clock in the morning, no big deal. She knows.”

Since both of them worked in the entertainment industry, they knew what each other dealt with. They could hence offer advice and help to one another about any issues they might encounter.

They are also one another’s biggest supporters when they achieve something. When McRaney won a Primetime Emmy award for his performance in “This Is Us,” Burke happened to be his biggest cheerleader. She stood in the audience, with tears in her eyes, cheering on her beloved husband.

McRaney said in his years as an actor, he has gotten a lot of feedback but Burke is who he takes seriously. If she tells him a performance is good or needs work; he knows shes being honest.

It was in 1998 that the foundation of their marriage was tested. Burke lost her grandmother, and soon after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was also on a hiatus from her acting career after she had a falling out with her show producers on “Designing Women.”

Fans started to notice that the actress was gaining weight while she appeared on the show. It turned out she had been struggling with hypoglycemia which caused an increase in her weight.

She constantly battled with her weight. The ineffective treatment of hypoglycemia combined with dieting eventually caused type 2 diabetes. She had a hard time even getting a diagnosis, going from doctor to doctor. Burke recalls, “I was on the road a lot. I was tired. My body didn’t feel right. I knew something was wrong, but nobody could tell me what,” Burke said. “They said I had Epstein-Barr. I knew it was something else. Then one doctor did the right tests and told me I had diabetes.”

She was also caring for her mother at the time and giving little attention to her own needs. While she was taking medication for her condition, her doctor warned her to improve her diet or she would be needing insulin therapy.

After a long struggle, her mother finally recovered. Burke applauded her husband for how he stood by her and made sure she took her medication and always took care of her. In 2004, McRaney fought lung cancer successfully as well.

She uses insulin now and credits McRaney for helping take care of her, including helping out with insulin shots. She said, “He loved me when I got as big as a house… He has loved me through my up times and my down times. He still thinks my body looks great, and I can certifiably tell you it does not!”

The couple stays active and takes care of their health together. Burke reveals she is finally in a good place with her health!

Delta Burke currently has no plans of returning to acting. Her husband McRaney doesn’t think she will return to acting either but also added that he would love to have the opportunity to work with her again!

While McRaney does not intend on retiring, the couple has bought a home in central Florida and plan on moving there soon. They have no children together but spent their life raising McRaney’s three kids from a previous marriage.

The couple has shown Hollywood and the world what it means to honor your wedding vows. We are sending them all the love and well wishes in the world.

Share this with others to show them what a loving and solid marriage looks like.
